Activity Details
This isn’t just a lesson; it’s a high-energy bonding session where colleagues step out of their comfort zones, cheer each other on through their first flights, and share the unmatched thrill of gliding over the water.

The eFoil Clinic will typically follow this structure:

Getting ready: We’ll supply you with a helmet and impact vest to keep you safe on the water. If you’d like, you can rent a wetsuit. You’ll be able to change in our facilities, and lockers are available for storing valuables.

Introduction: A qualified instructor will walk you through the equipment, safety guidelines, and the fundamentals of eFoiling while you’re still on shore.

On the water: You’ll head out together with a group of up to five participants, all guided by the instructor. During the session, everyone receives personal feedback to help build confidence and improve technique. Toward the end, you’ll attempt to lift the board out of the water.

Wrap-up: After the session, you’ll review your progress, get changed, and relax. You can also arrange food and beverage to enjoy after the activity.

Getting Started for Beginners to eFoiling

Most new riders can learn to “fly” within their first session (typically 45 minutes) by following these steps:

Prone Position: Start by lying on your stomach to get comfortable with the remote and speed.

Kneeling: Transition to your knees once the board is planing on the water.

Standing: Slowly stand up with your weight forward to keep the board stable.

First Flight: Gently shift weight back to lift the board out of the water, then lean forward again to “touch and go” until you find balance.

Safety Gear: It is essential to wear a helmet, impact vest, and often a wetsuit.

eFoil Clinic Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

1. General Knowledge

What is an eFoil?
An eFoil is an electric-powered surfboard equipped with a hydrofoil and a silent motor. As you gain speed, the hydrofoil lifts the board out of the water, allowing you to “fly” silently above the surface.
Do I need previous surfing or boarding experience?
Not at all! eFoiling is designed to be accessible to most fitness levels. While experience in balance sports like snowboarding or skateboarding helps, complete beginners often stand and fly within their first 45 minute session.
How fast does it go?
Most eFoils reach speeds of about 25–35 mph (40–55 km/h). For beginners, we keep speeds much lower to ensure a safe and controlled learning experience.

2. Lessons & Experience

How long is a typical lesson?

Standard introductory sessions usually last 45 minutes minimum to 1 hour. This includes a land-based briefing followed by plenty of time in the water to find your balance. However, we ask participants to be there at least 15 minutes prior to the activity to get organized and sorted.

What should I bring?

We recommend bringing swimwear, sunscreen, a towel, and a change of clothes. We provide all necessary safety gear, including helmets and impact vests.

Is eFoiling safe?
Yes. Modern boards have auto-shutoff features if the trigger is released or the board is submerged. Our instructors provide full safety training, and we conduct lessons in calm, protected waters. You must have some reasonable swimming skills.
Are the participants insured by your company?
During the booking process, you’ll be asked to sign a waiver. This ensures you understand the potential risks of eFoiling and confirm your agreement to take part in the lesson. While you accept personal responsibility, we as a school are fully insured for third-party damage and injuries. However, if any damage occurs due to reckless actions or failure to follow instructions, the costs will be passed on to you.

3. Corporate & Group Bookings

Do you offer corporate packages?
Yes! We specialize in corporate offsites and team-building events. Contact us for custom quotes based on your group size. We offer food and beverage packages to enjoy with your group after the activities.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Compared to many other water sports, eFoiling is less affected by weather conditions. Since it doesn’t rely on wind or waves, sessions can usually continue even if the weather isn’t ideal. That said, safety is always our top priority—if conditions aren’t suitable for eFoiling, we’ll reschedule your lesson at no extra cost.
Can multiple people share a board during a session?
For corporate groups, we often set up a “relay” style experience where team members take turns on the water while others cheer from the shore or a support boat. However, while a group is e-foiling away, others can try stand-up paddleboarding, ‘Expedition Robinson’ style games, and spend time socializing.
What is your cancellation policy?
Customers may cancel or modify their booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled date and time by contacting Flying Fish School via email (in writing) or through the app. If changes are made within 24 hours, the booking will be converted into a credit that can be used at a later date, and these credits are transferable. Cancellations within 24 hours result in the loss of the lesson fee. No refunds will be issued if fewer participants attend than originally booked.
